Adventures in Cleveland!

Welcome to our Saturday Adventures in the 423! What's 423? Glad you asked! It is the area code for East Tennessee where we do most of our exploring. 

In the summer of 2021 my daughter and I started with what we call our Saturday Adventures. Grab a cup of coffee and come explore with us!  As of today we have explored 53 new to us locations since August 21, 2021! I will eventually post them all here, but for now let's start with what we did this past Saturday! 


Our friends Candice and Savana wanted to join us so we decided to explore downtown Cleveland. If you haven't been to this town you are missing out! Our first stop was for coffee at the Ocoee Coffee Co. When I say I have never been more in love with a coffee shop I am serious! I want to move in immediately!  They have several spots inside where you can sit and enjoy your coffee while you work, chat with a friend or read a good book. THEN you go outside and they have 3 more locations where you can hang out! Perfection is the only word that  comes to mind! Here are a few pictures we took. Next we headed to walk the block downtown. Several places were closed, but we shopped at Boutique Collective and Project Free 2 Fly. We browsed furniture at Stampers which is like a maze and so fun to explore! 







After that we went to Grit and Grace which is my favorite vendor/booth type of place! It is located in the Old Woolen Mill and people rent out space and sell things! It is the perfect place to shop for gifts! Added bonus they have a coffee shop that is opening up soon and I CAN NOT WAIT TO TRY IT! Check out this building! Isn't it dreamy! I love all things vintage, old and antique! 








After all the walking and shopping we were starving so we headed to McAlister's which has the best gluten free bread around! 


We parted ways with our friends and ended the day with a Target run of course and a little pick me up from Sunshine Nutrition which I 10/10 recommend!

Saturday Adventures Birthday style!

  Today our Saturday Adventures were all about my daughter's 17th birthday party! As most of you know we love to visit coffee shops so we came up with a coffee date birthday party idea! We remembered  Ocoee Coffee Co. rents out spaces so we decided contact them! You guys they have the best prices I have ever seen! I will chat more about that in a bit, but let's first talk about all the fun things we did! Here are a few pictures from inside the room.  We rented out the Boathouse which can hold 20-25 people, but we had a total of 12  which felt perfect! Jenga and Uno were in the room so we played those while the girls arrived. The quoted rental price included a  $50 minimum to go towards purchase drinks or food and you pay for any amount over that. While we ordered and waited for our drinks the girls did a selfie scavenger hunt! Elizabeth and I had coffee there the week before to scope out ideas for this game! Adventures in Cleveland again!

We have explored so many cute places in Cleveland, yet somehow we still have more on our list! Our first stop was   Misfit Tacos off Stuart Road. We have heard about it, but had not visited until today. We will for sure be going back! For starters the tacos were wonderful! The customer service was superb and the place was so cute! Added bonus the prices were fantastic! We got the combo which comes with two tacos and  a side so we both chose queso and chips.  Next time we will share a queso and chips though because it was a big side and we couldn't finish it all. We shed a few tears as we threw our wasted leftovers away. Trust me when I tell you we thought of every scenario that would keep it good in our car while we were out and about so that we didn't waste in I mean it! Adventures in Hixson and Cleveland!

 Good day and how are you!? Grab a cup of coffee and let's go and visit some of the first places we visited back in Sept. 2021! I would like to start out with a honorable mention of a place called The Tinker Fairies' Cottage in Ooltewah.  We went there on our second adventure, but only took a selfie. I have some videos saved to highlights on Instagram though. It is this adorable little house turned gift shop and I love it so much!  This place is right behind  Get Wired Coffee  , right up the road from the Ooltewah Whistlestop and down the road from The Shop on Main .  Hop on over to Ooltewah on Main street and plan your next Saturday Adventure with these 4 places!
